Here is a fetish for you. A guy in Toronto, Canada, has been arrested for the theft of 2, 865 bicycles. Yes, that’s right, a 135 shy of 3,000. He had them stashed all over the place, in rented garages, his home and his shop before police took possession of them. How many riders has he made walk in Toronto is still unknown but 15,000 cyclists rocked up to the police station hoping to find their missing bike.
So here is the clincher, Mr Bike thief (Igor Kenk) owned a cycle shop called the Bike Clinic and it seems everyone knew the bikes were hot. In fact it was common knowledge that if you had your bike stolen you just headed to the Bike Clinic because it was sure to be there. Once found you could get it back in either of two ways, argue and make a scene or buy it back for around $40. What’s more Kenk got mentally ill people, armed with bolt cutters, to do his dirty work. Nice one, sport!
