Oh dear, it seems a wealthy Indonesian Muslim cleric has got himself in some big trouble. Pujiono Cahyo Widianto (43) an owner of an Islamic boarding school, decided to run a contest in which the winner would marry him (must have watched too much reality TV) . Trouble was the contestants were all minors (one contest you wouldn’t want to win). Now, I know what you are thinking, but wait there is more. One of the judges in the competition was Pujino’s first wife. The 12 year old girl, who eventually won the contest ended up marrying the cleric basically because her parents financial woes. Luckily the Indonesian Child Protection Commission dobbed the cleric and the rest of the bunch into police before he could marry the 7 and 9 year old he had already picked out as his next brides (what happened to having another contest?).Despite the marriage being deemed “legal” in the eyes of his religion, he failed to register the marriage to the state and that’s a charge of forcing”, “swindling” and/or “trading” a minor to sleep with another person. If found guilty that could get you up to 15 years and the official label pedophile.
