Two of the men behind the tainted milk scandal in China have been sentenced to death. Zhang Yujun and Geng Jinping who were milk producers were stunned when they heard the verdict. Both were found guilty of selling and producing melamine laced toxic milk to dairy companies.Another boss Tian Wenhua narrowly missed out on the bullet too, she got life and a £2.6million fine (thankful for small mercies).At least six children have died and nearly 300,000 fallen ill after drinking the poisoned potion. The Chinese government ordered all the dairy firms involved to pay £80million in compensation to the families of babies that died or fell ill, but so far families have yet to see a Yuan of it!
UPDATE : Zhang Yujun and Geng Jinping have both been given the bullet “for the crime of endangering public safety by dangerous means”. They don’t mess around.
