OK, this is different. Don’t know how Amnesty International or the United Nations feel about this but…Somali Islamic militiamen chopped off the right hand and left foot of four thieves after they were found guilty of stealing cell phones and guns from residents in Mogadishu (hmm, well at least they can still balance). The punishment was handed out by masked Shebab gunmen armed with traditional curve blade knives in front of a large crowd. Urgh, I wont go into the gory details but needless to say it hurt like a bitch. Surprisingly the hardline Islamic group had a doctor present to check the health of the guilty so as to “avoid putting their lives at risk” (nice of them). I guess it’s the end of that career…hmm but I guess there is always piracy!

It could have been worse. I caught the end of a show on TV last night where some king had built a beautiful temple in someones memory and so that it could never be duplicated he hacked of the hands of all the stone masons who’d worked on the job. He had the eyes gouged out of the people who oversaw the building of it and they left it to my imagination as to what happened to the Architect. Now that’s a tad harsh.
