Well here’s something you can bring up at your next dinner party, fruit bats are big on oral sex.Who knew. Hmm, so that’s why they are blind (Geez, granny was right!)! The new study by a team of biologists at Guangdong Entomological Institute in China, found that more than two thirds of the female Cynopterus sphinx (fruit bats) performed fellatio on their mates and in return got themselves an extended bout of lovemaking. Move over humans and the bonobo chimpanzees we got a new player on the block. Oh dear, look away sensitive loons, the study goes on to say “After the male mounted the female from behind, she bent over and began licking his penis.” Hmm, the longer the licking the longer the sex. Frans de Waal, a primatologist at Emory University in Atlanta said “The finding of fellatio in bats is exciting news.” Hmm, they don’t get out much do they!
