Chinglish Gets A Makeover

In the lead up to the 2010 Shanghai World Expo, the city is now focusing on correcting some of the 300 or so confusing English signs. You know, the Chinglish ones. Here are a few which are on the list “the floor slips”, “fall into the river carefully”, “disabled elevator”, “Throw the paper to the garbage can”, “Deformed Man Toilet”, “Prohibit carrying animals and the articles which disturb common sanitation (including the peculiar smell of effluvium)” , “If you take the phone on your waistband, as if to send money to the thief, are likely to vanish forever.”,  “If you are stolen, call the police at once” and the most famous one of all outside the entrance to Pearl Tower ” The ragamuffin, drunken people and psychotics are forbidden to enter the Tower.”
