A coroner has finally put to rest the death of baby Azaria at Uluru in 1980. The dingo did it. Yep, it’s official, the death certificate of Azaria Chamberlain can now be changed. Lindy Chamberlain (now Chamberlain-Creighton) who was originally jailed for the baby’s murder and ex hubby Michael Chamberlain, who was charged as being an accessory after the fact, were both exonerated after a royal commission in 1987. However, the cause of Azaria’s death was never officially determined . Now at least there is finally some closure.
Background – In 1980, while the Chamberlains were staying at a popular camping ground at Uluru, a dingo crept into the tent where baby Azaria and her two brothers were sleeping and dragged the 9 week old out by its jacket. Lindy cried out that a “dingo’s got my baby”. Despite an extensive search no trace of Azaria was ever found except for a torn baby’s jacket. Suspicion soon turned to the Chamberlains and they were later sent to trial and found guilty of Azaria’s murder. The pair were later exonerated after Lindy served several years in jail. The case divided the nation.
I never had a doubt the dingo took the baby…It is the biggest cover up in Australian legal history… Shame on the authorities that dealt with the case in the eighties…. Those arseholes have destroyed an entire family trying to save their own arses….

Here is some inside knowledge I managed to pick up while working in association with the case….
Chamberlains lawyers had their offices broken into several times. They where finally burned down… all evidence disappeared… It is believed the ranger at Uluru at the time had been ordered by the local cop to kill a dingo nicknamed scar face as he had attacked a kid from Thornly WA at the campsite only weeks before Azaria went missing. The ranger had a soft spot for the dog and used to feed it regularly as the dog was a pack outcast. Instead of shooting the dingo he took it 200 km west to the Western Australian border and released it. Several weeks later scar face showed up again at Uluru and it is believed he was found eating the body of Azaria in the backyard at the rangers place…. from here on in the biggest cover up started….non of this ever came up in any royal commissions or anything else…. Hang on there are some men in black knocking on my door….What could possibly the matter be?……….

The so called experts and the ones they brought out from England should hang their heads in shame. They wrecked the Chamberlain’s marriage and Lindy did four years and for what???? They were good Christian people camping with like minded friends. What a disgrace this whole fiasco was. The Northern Territory Govenment should make an example of those who created this monster and be held accountable for getting it so wrong. Blind Freddie could see through this bullshit.

I just read about that on AOL–glad to see that it’s finally got closure. I never found it hard to believe a dingo took the baby. Babies are taken and eaten all over the world by wild animals–especially now, as humans are moving into their territory.
Wow, that’s gotta suck. You lose your child to a mauling animal and you have to serve years in a maximum security prison and face public scrutiny and shame as being the culprit. That is so scary, because it’s not the last time that something like that will probably occur.
