Oh my, seems that whole Salman Rushdie fatwa is still going strong, in fact, the reward has just been upped from $2.8m to $3.3m since the British author recently said in an interview there is a need for blasphemy.Rushdie, who wrote the infamous Satanic Verses, has been in hiding since 1989 when Iran’s Ayatollah Khomeini called for his death. It hasn’t been all bad for Salman, he’s been married three times during his protective hiding phase.
Free speech has its price, apparently.
