No I didn’t See Any Rare Orchids

Whoopsie daisy, a workman has successfully killed hundreds of protected rare orchids. Hmm, thinking they were simply weeds he sprayed the 9 different species of rare orchids with herbicide and they all died a few days later.Ecologists who were monitoring the site in Devon were absolutely appalled when they discovered their plants were now brown, withered and dead. It could take up to 15 years for the population to re-established.

I wonder why they weren’t in a protected zone. like here at the Skeleton Creek wetlands. Yesterday when I was walking Tillie I saw a Head sticking out of the reeds. Now a blue tongue lizard and a a brown snake have the same heads and I S,,,,T myself as Tillie only moved back when it hissed. at her. If you can’t see the body it’s hard to tell the difference. Anyway back to the orchids, they have sections that are being monitored on the wetlands and it’s fenced off and signage erected. Silly duffers.. they should PROTECT properly.
