Siberian Cycle Fail

News flash to German cyclist who suffered severe frostbite after attempting to ride through Siberia, yes it is that friggin cold! Sven Riedel decided to cycle some 300km (187 miles) from Ulan-Ude to Lake Baikal despite the temps being -35 degrees Celsius. After riding about 100km, he pitched a tent for the night but was overcome by the friggin cold. If it wasn’t for a local driver who spied the dumbass and persuaded him to get in his car, Sven would have been a human ice block. He later told journos “I didn’t think it would be so cold.” Hmm, have you never watched Hogan’s Heroes? Doctors were worried they would have to amputate a few of his fingers but all’s good, oh,  except for the frostbite on both hands and feet.

Psst I hope he warmed the bicycle seat before getting on…I’m just saying!

Stalag 13 is the fictional location for the toughest prisoner of war camp in Germany, under the command of Colonel Wilhelm Klink. There has never been a successful escape from the camp. But in reality, the camp, which is located near the town of Hammelburg, hid an anti-Nazi organization that is made up of captured Allied flyers. The unit, led by Colonel Robert Hogan, specialized in sabotage, rescuing Allied pilots, passing along intelligence to London and helping other POWs escape back to England, and doing it all right under the Germans’ noses.

I’ve been watching them all week every night. 2 –
3 episodes and I laugh till I cry . Le Beau cracks me up and Helga slips into an American accent all the time lol. I reckon Klink is so good too the way he marches out with his whip and monacle.
Klink to Schultz – Sometimes I vunder who is running dis camp?
        Schultz to Klink -Me Too!

      • I grew up watching it. Shame about Bob Crane’s demise 😦 Shultz was always my favorite (still is). Interestingly the actor Richard Dawson (Corporal Peter Newkirk) originally audition for the role of Hogan but he couldn’t pull off a convincing American accent.

Bob Crane has difficulty with the German one and like Helga keeps slipping back to YANKY when he’s playing a German fom time to time. When I watch the DVD’s it’s now so obvious. 20 years ago I hardly noticed it. His German accent is sooooo bad but I still love him. Too bad about his HUGE cocaine habit.
