RIP Conrad Bain

The actor who played Phillip Drummond, the father figure to Willis and Arnold on the ill fated TV sitcom  Different Strokes, has passed away at 89. Todd Bridges,  the only surviving member from the original cast, said of his passing “In addition to being a positive and supportive father figure both on and off-screen, Conrad was well-loved and made going to work each day enjoyable for all of us. He will be missed, but never forgotten.”.

  1. Todd Bridges would not have been my guess for last man standing. Glad he turned his life around.

  2. When I read the news about this, it’s said something like “Bain Death – Actor from Different Strokes Dies,” and I thought it said “Brain Death.” I figured it had something to do with a stroke victim. Then I read the article. I remember this guy! I watched that show a few times.

I thought the girl was pretty nice. Lousy life, though. Conrad al;ways seemed like a decent guy.
