The Shape of the Sydney Opera House is now a Registered Trademark

Yep, that’s right. No one can take a commercial photo of the iconic building or turn it into a product without permission (and a presumed fee) to the Sydney Opera House Trust. Hmm, well that is downright rude considering that the friggin TAXPAYERS financed the whole thing!!!!

Want sauce with that?

  1. I’m going to take a picture of it just to spite them!

  2. Craig

Since Stralia is following the downward spiral of the Good Ol’ U S of A, do what we do….sue for your rightful portion of the ‘fees’ those bastards are charging. Good Luck.

    • Hey Craig, nice to hear from you. Happy New Year and all. When I was in Atlanta, I wasn’t allowed to use the photo I took of the Martin Luther King statue without permission from the sculptor. Seriously!!!! Public art my ass.

  3. Damn my opera house toilet seat cover business is out of business.

  4. Screw them…take all the pics you like and publish them….It’s the Friggin Sydney opera house for crying out loud…I’m packing the Pentax as we speak….there is work to be done…tooroo…

  5. I think it must be a joke…

  6. Seems to me, all those fees that will be rolling in as some poor schlub scrolls the internet looking for misused pictures, well those should go into a pool to be shared with all the citizens of Australia. Think, what will you be doing with your millions?
