It Has Been A Year

Robin WilliamsThe world has definitely been a sadder place since Robin Williams left us a year ago today.  He was the go to guy when you needed a laugh. You could watch his movies and stand-ups over and over again and still find little quips you missed. I still haven’t been able to watch a single one since he left, despite the networks efforts in keeping their ratings high by playing Mrs Doubtfire and Good Will Hunting nearly every week. No Robin Williams, your passing has left a big friggin hole that can’t be filled. Nanoo Nanoo.

RIP Conrad

raccoonWhen the council failed to remove a dead raccoon from a Toronto street, there was only one thing to do…build a shrine to the little fellow. A rose and a sympathy card were soon followed by candles, flowers and even a framed photo of a raccoon. Locals named the deceased critter Conrad and tweeted the memorial.

PSST Conrad was eventually taken to his final resting place by an animal services worker near midnight.

Worst Fear Realised

Yellow-RibbonSeriously, it is bad enough flying without having a friggin suicidal pilot. News broke last night that the co-pilot of the ill fated GermanWings plane locked himself in the cockpit and then flew the 150 passengers and crew into the mountainside at about 350 m/h killing all on board. No words on this one, just simply horrific.

Elizabeth Pena RIP

Many of you may not know Elizabeth Pena by name, but she had graced our screens (both TV and Movies)  for 40 years. She was one of my fav actresses. She  starred in  “Down and Out in Beverly Hills,” “La Bamba,” “Lone Star,” “Rush Hour” and “The Incredibles,”.  I remember her starring in the TV sitcom “I married Dora” (alongside 13 year old Juliette Lewis ) where in the last scene of the series the actors jump out of character to announce the show had been cancelled.

Elizabeth was 55 and left behind her husband and two children  😦
